Driver Education

The Bi-lingual Instructors will:

  • Help you with the process of renewing your Certificate of Identity with NZ Immigration and sending it to Land Transport Agency.

  • Show you how to convert your International driver’s license to the equivalence of NZ license.

  • Go through the road code book with you and obtain a Learner’s driver license.

  • Teach you to drive safely and achieve your Restricted driver’s license.

Staffing

  • Bi-lingual Coaches – Theory road code test

  • Bilingual Instructors – Practical test

  • Classes are run in community groups, a translator will be present

Enrolling

A. Level 1: Theory – Learner License

Complete enrollment form via internet or ring the ROC office to get a hard copy.

Please bring the following documents:

  • Valid passport or Certificate of Identity

  • Proof of residence (i.e. Electricity bill, telephone or bank statement)

  • Applicant must be 16 years old and over

  • Total test fee is $96.10 (Free class lectures & related materials)

  • If the test is failed, a re-sit fee of $47.40 applies

B. Level 2: Practical- Restricted license

Completed enrollment form via internet or ring the ROC office to get hard copy.

Please bring the following documents:

  • Valid learner driver license

  • Your own vehicle and petrol

  • Applicant must be 16 years old and over

  • Total test fee is $137.00 (Free class lectures & related materials)

  • If the test is failed, a re-sit fee will apply
