Volunteer Opportunites

THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS ARE RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS NOW!

After School Programme

This course is designed to help children build up confidence and catch up in their English language use, and mathematics. The children can do their homework in an encouraging environment and learn good study attitudes. We can help the family with other academic matters such as parent interviews, selection of courses, communication between school and family, and the school environment.

Conversational English

This course is designed for adult refugees who are seeking to develop their oral and communication English skills – speaking, listening, writing and reading, for beginners and elementary levels.

Youth Mentoring

Strategically paired with a mentee, a youth mentor offers one-on-one assistance to their mentee for study skills, and subject selection to help with learning about New Zealand, and getting to know Hamilton. Being a youth mentor is a fun and proactive way to help another teen settle into New Zealand society and school.

Catch-Up Programme

This programme is for Years 9-11 secondary students to help with homework, improve reading and writing, maths, and science.

Jambo Soccer Cup

This annual festival is a fun soccer tournament that gives every child an opportunity to compete in a friendly community competition. It encourages the integration of children aged 6-16 years old from various ethnic groups to join the one day event.
